  2. Looks like a great way to build up a resource library of pretextured objs. (as well as introducing the standalone concepts of linked nodes etc - which are still new to me!)

    A couple of suggestions:
Is there any way to read and edit position, scale, rotation etc of GDL object and have that update the orbx file? Much more intuitive to drag the GDL proxy to exactly where you want the tree to appear in an ArchiCAD view, rather than via numeric trial and error in Standalone app editing environment) A tick box presumably needed to enforce match between ArchiCAD coordinates & proxy coordinates

Can you include a 'save as' button, so the originally defined orbx definition can remain available, but a new variant (with say a different scatter, or altered materials) is added to library? Perhaps even having an auto backup of original created should user just carelesly 'save' and overwrite the original?

  3. Hi. Regarding positioning - if you set the mesh in the ORBX to position 0, 0, 0, then it should be placed exactly where the host GDL Object is in the scene. If this is NOT happening, pls let me know.

Save As....whilst in the NodeGraph - you can rightclick a node as save as ORBX, and you can also select the entire node structure and Copy in the Windows clipboard, and then paste into Octane Standalone.

  5. I assume orbx creation has to happen in Octane Standalone? What you describe seems not possible from the plugin. Most useful would be a way yo do it on the fly while actually editing your scene - i.e. in ArchiCAD. This is where an ArchiCAD user tries out various objs (playing with materials) to see if they will suit the scene - and so the most logical place to then capture all that effort and export the 'perfected' result as an orbx for later reuse in other projects. Also handy would be ability to select and export objects authored natively in ArchiCAD as orbxs - again to capture the work done in plugin with materials, without the productivity burden of undertaking a separate workflow disrupting process away from the familier ArcicAD/plugin environment

    2. Open Explorer and duplicate an existing ORBX proxy file, assign it to your ArchiCAD proxy, then edit it in the ArchiCAD ORBX proxy editor.
